Strength Training program for jiu jitsu

Pressure | Strength & Conditioning Program | Team Soul

Every training cycle gives us an opportunity to learn.

At Team Soul, we don’t believe a program should stay the same simply because it’s worked in the past. We constantly evaluate what we’re doing, listen to feedback from our members, and ask ourselves one simple question:

“Does this still represent the best coaching we can provide?”

Following ADCC, we spent a lot of time reviewing our Pressure program. We looked at attendance, recovery, member feedback, coaching observations, and the overall direction of the program.

There were a lot of things we liked. Members got stronger. Conditioning improved. Confidence grew. But there were also things we knew could be better.

Some sessions became too repetitive. Some workouts created more soreness than we wanted. Some conditioning pieces felt more like they were designed to make people tired than to make them better.

So we decided to rebuild the program.

Not because it wasn’t working, but because we believe our members deserve constant improvement.

What Is Pressure?

Pressure is Team Soul’s strength and conditioning program.

It was originally created to support Brazilian Jiu Jitsu athletes and martial artists by making them stronger, more durable, and better conditioned without taking away from their time on the mats.

Over time, something interesting happened.

Members who had never trained Jiu Jitsu started following the program.

They enjoyed the structure. They enjoyed having a plan. They enjoyed getting stronger without feeling like they had to become competitive CrossFit athletes or bodybuilders.

Today, Pressure serves two groups equally well.

The first is our combat sports community. These members need strength, conditioning, durability, grip strength, trunk stability, and explosive power while still having enough energy to train Jiu Jitsu several days each week.

The second is everyone else.

Many of our members simply want to become stronger, healthier, leaner, more athletic, and more confident. They want a program that is intelligently designed, professionally coached, and focused on long term progress instead of random workouts.

Pressure was built for both.

Our Philosophy Hasn’t Changed

Strength training should improve your life, not interfere with it.

That idea drives every decision we make.

If you’re constantly sore, exhausted, or unable to enjoy the activities you love because of your workouts, something is wrong.

For our Jiu Jitsu members, strength training should help you roll better, recover faster, protect your joints, and reduce your risk of injury.

For everyone else, it should help you move better, feel stronger, build muscle, improve conditioning, and make everyday life easier.

Our goal has never been to see how much suffering we can create in seventy five minutes.

Our goal is to help you become a more capable human being.

Why We Redesigned the Program

The biggest change you’ll notice is that we’ve moved away from thinking about individual muscle groups.

Traditional training often revolves around chest day, leg day, back day, or arm day.

That approach can work, but it isn’t how most people actually live.

Whether you’re rolling on the mats, chasing your kids around the house, hiking, running, playing golf, or simply carrying groceries, your body works as one system.

We wanted our training to reflect that.

Instead of crushing one body part every session, you’ll see much more full body training throughout the week.

That allows us to train movements more frequently, improve technique, manage soreness, and recover better between sessions.

The result is better performance with less unnecessary fatigue.

Every Day Has A Purpose

One of the biggest mistakes in fitness is trying to make every workout accomplish everything.

You don’t need heavy lifting, high intensity conditioning, bodybuilding accessories, and a brutal finisher every single day.

Some days should be heavy.

Some days should build your engine.

Some days should focus on muscle.

Some days should simply help you move better.

Each Pressure session has a clear objective.

Strength Day

Strength is still one of the foundations of the program.

You’ll perform compound movements that give you the greatest return for your effort. Squats, presses, deadlift variations, pull ups, carries, and other foundational exercises remain a major part of what we do.

Our focus is quality movement, progressive overload, and long term development.

You’ll leave feeling stronger, not destroyed.

Conditioning And Core Day

Conditioning doesn’t need to mean lying on the floor wondering what just happened.

We want to build an engine that actually transfers into real life.

Expect sleds, carries, rowing, Ski Erg, Bike Erg, medicine balls, bodyweight movements, and intervals that improve your ability to work without creating unnecessary soreness.

You’ll also spend time building one of the most important areas of the body.

Your trunk.

A strong trunk improves posture, protects the spine, transfers force more efficiently, and helps everything from lifting weights to playing sports to simply feeling better throughout the day.

Performance Day

Performance Day brings everything together.

You might see explosive movements, athletic drills, moderate strength work, and short conditioning pieces combined into one session.

These workouts are designed to improve movement quality, coordination, power, and overall athleticism.

The goal isn’t simply to finish the workout.

The goal is to become more capable.

Hypertrophy Day

Building muscle still matters.

More muscle supports healthy aging, improves body composition, strengthens connective tissue, and helps protect your joints.

Let’s also be honest.

Most people enjoy looking in the mirror and seeing the results of their hard work.

These sessions focus on controlled lifting, quality repetitions, and enough volume to build muscle while still allowing you to recover well.

Recovery Is Part Of The Program

One lesson reinforced during the previous cycle was that soreness is not the same thing as progress.

Anyone can make someone sore.

Good coaching is knowing how to create enough training stress to stimulate improvement while still allowing the body to recover and adapt.

That balance becomes even more important for members who train Jiu Jitsu several days each week.

Our goal is for your strength training to support your recovery, not compete with it.

That means smarter exercise selection, better volume management, and a more thoughtful progression from week to week.

Built For The Long Term

We’re not interested in creating a workout that looks exciting for social media.

We’re interested in helping you become stronger six months from now.

One year from now.

Five years from now.

Longevity requires consistency.

Consistency requires intelligent programming.

That’s exactly what Pressure is designed to provide.

Whether you’re preparing for your next Jiu Jitsu tournament, getting ready for a Spartan Race, improving your health after years away from the gym, or simply looking for a structured strength and conditioning program in Miami, our mission is the same.

Help you become stronger.

Help you move better.

Help you stay healthy.

Help you enjoy training.

More Than A Workout

Pressure isn’t just another class on our schedule.

It’s a coaching system.

Every workout is planned with intention. Every progression has a purpose. Every training cycle is built to help you improve without burning you out.

We believe the best program isn’t the one that leaves you exhausted every day.

It’s the one that keeps you showing up, getting stronger, moving better, and enjoying the process year after year.

That’s the direction we’re taking Pressure.

Smarter programming.

Better coaching.

Better recovery.

Better performance.

Whether you train Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, compete in another sport, or simply want to become the strongest, healthiest version of yourself, we’d love for you to experience what we’ve built.

Come train with us.

We’ll take care of the programming.

You bring the effort.
