Expanding Our Saturday Strength Offerings

May 30, 20252 min read

Over the last few months, we’ve been running a Fundamentals of Weightlifting class at both Team Soul Miami and FTL every Saturday morning at 8am. These sessions have been incredibly well received, and more importantly, our crew is making serious progress. Whether you’re brand new to snatching and clean & jerking or just looking to sharpen your technique, this class has created the space and time needed to build confidence and consistency. The best part? We’re just getting started.

We’ve always believed that lifting—whether it’s on a platform or in the middle of a metcon—deserves more than 12 minutes as a warm up for your class.  That’s exactly why this class was created, and it’s why we’ll continue running it.

But strength goes beyond the Olympic lifts.

As we’ve grown this community and listened to feedback, we’re hearing it loud and clear: you want more time to lift, more time to get strong, and more opportunities to learn. And as much as we do our best to fit it all into a packed 60-minute CrossFit class, the reality is… it’s tough to do it all.

So starting Saturday, June 14th, we’re adding something new to our rotation—Fundamentals of Strength. This class will alternate each Saturday with Fundamentals of Weightlifting.

What does that mean for you?

One Saturday you’ll dig into the snatch, clean, and jerk. Next Saturday, you’ll dive into more traditional strength training—things like squats, deadlifts, presses, tempo work, and positional development. This class is about building strength that supports not just your lifts, but your metcons, your running, your gymnastics, and honestly… your real life.

Just like our weightlifting class, this will be open to anyone in our community—no experience or competition goals required. Whether you’re here to get stronger, move better, or finally understand how to squat without blowing up your knees, this class is for you.

We’re going to slow things down, teach you how to move, and build the kind of strength that carries over into everything else we do.

We’re proud of what this crew is building and excited to keep expanding on it.
