California Mixed Martial Arts starts the year off strong with two amazing wins at LFA 199 at Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, CA on January 10, 2025. CMMA secured victories at the hands of Erick Visconde (15-3) and Rafael Do Nascimento (10-3). Visconde won via a vicious spinning elbow knockout while Nascimento secured a painful calf slicer submission; both very rare occurrences in the cage. 

It’s only January but both fighters’ wins are definitely going to be among the best finishes of 2025. If you haven’t seen them yet, check out Visconde’s and Nascimento’s highlight finishes. It’s extremely likely that both Visconde and Nascimento are on the radar of the UFC and could quite possibly earn their shot later this year.

Visconde and Nascimento are leading the charge for CMMA. On top of those two victories, the momentum carried over to the next night where CMMA had two amateur fighters win at Sparstar; one via submission and the other by decision. CMMA also hosted the California Submission Series on January 26th to showcase submission only matches where 8 members of CMMA walked away with medals (6x gold, 2x silver and 2x bronze) along with the inaugural team trophy for most wins.

The team is gearing up for more victories in the coming months with multiple amateur and professional MMA fights in organizations such as UNF, LXF, VES, Cage Warriors, and UFC. California Submission Series will also be returning on May 4th of this year.
