We understand that attending your first class can be intimidating. Don’t worry; it’s completely normal to feel a bit nervous!
To help you feel prepared, here’s a step-by-step guide:
Reserve Your Spot: Book your first class online. Space is limited, so it’s essential to book ahead. If you need assistance, feel free to call or email us at
Step 2: Pack Your Gym Bag
Come prepared to sweat! Here’s what you’ll need:
-Gym Clothes: Light, comfortable attire is perfect for your first class.
While we encourage regular members to wear Muay Thai shorts, it’s not mandatory.
-Water Bottle: Stay hydrated! We also have drinks available for purchase.
-Towel: Useful for wiping off sweat (optional).
-Footwear: Training is done barefoot, but boxing shoes are optional for boxing classes.
-Gloves and Wraps: Optional for your first class, and we have community gloves available to borrow.
Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes early.
This gives you time to check in, sign a waiver, get a gym tour, and change for class. Enter through the main door and you’ll be greeted at the front desk. We have separate changing rooms for men and women.
Once you’re ready, head to the mats to meet your instructor. They’ll be there to answer your questions and help you get started.
Remember, learning a new skill takes time, patience, and practice. Keep an open mind, maintain a positive attitude, and don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it.
Evening classes typically last about 1 hour and 15 minutes, while lunch classes are around 1 hour. Here’s what a typical class looks like:
Warm-Up (15 min): Start with jump rope and/or shadow boxing, guided by an instructor who will teach you basic movements.
Pad/Bag Drills (50 min): Following the warm-up, engage in high-intensity technical drills. Beginners may work on the bag for more personalized attention, while more experienced participants can join pad work.
Conditioning (10 min): Finish with strength and conditioning exercises using bodyweight or light equipment.
After class, you’re welcome to stretch and ask your instructor any questions.
Don’t forget to check in with the front desk to share your experience and get answers to any lingering questions.
We hope you have a fantastic first class and fall in love with Muay Thai and boxing!
Get ready to embark on an exciting journey of fitness and skill-building.
