This Is What 30 Months of Consistency Looks Like
Eric’s Story | A Versus Member Highlight
In a world where everyone is searching for the fastest path to results, the truth is often much simpler—and much harder: real change takes time.
Over the last 30 months, one of our Versus coaches and members, Eric, has quietly demonstrated exactly what that looks like.
Eric began his journey at 287 pounds. Today, he weighs 193 pounds—a 94-pound transformation. At one point, he even pushed past the 100-pound mark, but found that wasn’t the most sustainable place for him. What he’s built now is something better—results he can maintain.
What’s even more impressive is that he accomplished this while keeping a high level of strength along the way. That tells you this wasn’t a crash diet or a short burst of motivation. This was steady, consistent work.
That consistency becomes even more meaningful when you consider the starting point. In 2020, Eric underwent back surgery, which forced a reset in how he approached his health and fitness. Fast forward to today, and he’s not just moving well—he’s running a 7:10 mile and continuing to train hard in the gym.

One of the biggest takeaways from Eric’s lifestyle:
There are healthy—or at least healthier—options everywhere. You just have to slow down long enough to think about what you’re putting in your body.
We live in a time where we have access to more tools than ever before—fitness trackers, apps, medications, recovery devices, nutrition plans. There are incredible resources available to help people improve their health.
But tools alone don’t create lasting change.
They can support the process, but they don’t replace the work. Real results still come from developing healthy habits, showing up consistently, and putting in the effort over months and years—not days or weeks.
That’s the lesson Eric’s journey represents.
Consistency in the gym doesn’t just change your body. It impacts your mental and emotional health just as much. Training becomes a stabilizing force during stressful seasons of life. For many people, the gym becomes a place to reset, focus, and build momentum when everything else feels uncertain.
Versus played an important role in that process during some major life changes along the way. The coaching, the structure, and the community created a place to keep moving forward—one workout at a time.
And when you stack enough of those days together, you end up somewhere completely different than where you started:
Ninety-four pounds different, to be exact.
If there’s one takeaway from Eric’s story, it’s this:
Use the tools. Use the resources. Take advantage of everything available to help you.
But never forget thatnothing replaces consistency over time.
