Integrity
This month's character development theme is centered around Integrity.
Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. It’s about being honest, trustworthy, and standing up for what’s right—no matter what.
At Power of One - Lakewood, we believe integrity isn’t something you just talk about—it’s something you live. This month, we’ll be discussing four major components of Integrity
Courtesy
Courtesy is a small act that packs a wallop. Whether it's holding a door, offering a kind word, or simply treating others how you’d like to be treated, courtesy shows strength of character. It opens doors—literally and figuratively—and is a true reflection of integrity in action.
Loyalty
Loyalty isn’t about who acts true to your face—it’s about who stays true behind your back. Integrity means being loyal and trustworthy, not just when it’s easy, but especially when it’s hard. When you show loyalty, others know they can count on you no matter what.
Respect
Respect is how you treat others—and how you treat yourself. When you show respect, you demonstrate inner strength, confidence, and self-discipline. The way you speak to others, the way you carry yourself, and even the way you handle disagreements all reflect your own self-respect.
Honesty
Honesty means telling the truth—even when it’s difficult. It starts with being honest with yourself and extends to being truthful with others. Living with honesty might not get you a crowd of friends, but it will bring the right people into your life—and it builds lasting trust.
Let’s all commit to living with integrity this month—at home, at school, and in the dojo.
Because being a martial artist isn’t just about kicking and punching. It’s about being a person others can count on.
Train hard. Be honest. Live with integrity.
